Sharing Windows folders

Sharing files using Windows folders:

In Windows, you can enable a folder to be shared over the network and give it a “share” name (for example, “john_doe_share”). If you do this, your friend Jane Doe connected to the virtual network will be able to browse your shared folders by typing (in an Explorer window), the name assigned to your computer and the shared folder name, as in:

\\pc1.john_d.ipop\john_doe_share

The following screenshot shows an example. Here’s the configuration window used to setup a folder named “ipopshare” for sharing; this properties window can be accessed when you right-click on a folder and select “Sharing”.

The following screenshot shows how to open the ipopshare shared folder using the social virtual network machine name of your peer (in this example, pc1.renato_f.ipop):
